Cards for OWH I made a few weeks ago....just now posting

Here's a few more OWH cards I made recently.
I've actually got a box of over 100 cards ready to go out and I know that I failed to take pics of many of them, so they're not going to be posted here.  Truthfully, I forgot about this blog until I had to upload a pic of a handmade card to enter on a sketch posting....you had to link to your blog, so viola, here I am back at the old site!    thanks for taking a peek.

2 cards (actually 3) in one night.....

Here's another OWH card.   flowers and "thanks" sentiment are popped up a bit.

Operation Write Home Card Sketch #217 inspired me to create this card:

Oh, yeah! New Baby Boy card!

About a month ago a co-worker had her first grandchild born into her family, so I created a card to go with a group gift for her:

Found: Mojo for cardmaking!

I've been having a good time creating cards lately but still don't seem to remember to post anything here.  Guess I'm just not a blogger at heart!  Anyway, here's quite a few I've done in the last couple of months----at least the ones I've remembered to take pictures of before sending off to Operation Write Home (OWH).   I focused on mostly "kid friendly" cards this weekend, since I rarely do that and was touched by a story I heard of a hero stationed in Afghanistan who tries to send a card to his/her 5 year old son daily.

Don't you just love "googly eyes"?
All of the animal images I did were stamped with black Versa Fine Ink, then I used my water color pencils to color the images (but no water).  I used the Gamsol technique for blending the colors and I liked how they turned out!   I'm really new to that technique, but so far I like it and plan to continue working on improving.  I don't think I'll ever be a Copic coloring type of gal....but the colored pencils may be my thing.

This last one is intended for Valentine's Day (which are due by December in order to get to the heroes and back home in time).  It's the first I've done "officially" for Valentine's Day, so I need to get hopping on that and get more done.  The "LOVE" sentiment is on pretty chipboard, but that's hard to make out fully here.

Butterfly card that I CASE'd~~~

Here's a card that I based off of a similar-type of project I saw elsewhere (but can't recall where right now).  I ended up liking my creation so much that I think I made 6 of these babies!  I usually only make one or two of a particular card.  Thanks for looking~~~

While I'm on a roll....a couple more cards I created last night (actually I made 4, 2 of each design sentiment)

My friend, Grayson, had this stamp set (old retired Stampin' Up set) and let me stamp off enough images to create four cards.  She had made her own creation with them and shared with me, so I thought I'd do a CASE off of an Operation Write Home article and do some, too.  Here's mine:

long time, no see! 2 cards for a blog hop challenge

OMG!   I haven't used this blog in almost a year!   I've vacationed and traveled since then to Europe and San Antonio and KC for two sold-out Taylor Swift Concerts!  3 whole trips that I never even wrote about!  And I've been making cards.....lots of cards....but I never get around to this blog.  Well, today I wanted to share a couple pics on a blog for Operation Write Home, so I needed to put them on my own blog in order to share there!   So, Hello Blog!!!  Good to see you!  :-)

Picture #1 from the OWH Blog Hop for Labor Day, for Challenge #1:   (sorry it is a tad blurry!)

And this is Picture #2 from the OWH Blog Hop for Labor Day, for Challenge #1:

This card is for the challenge using something "O-W-H"   The O is for odd number of layered images/panels, W is for White card base that I then dry embossed and lightly inked over, and H is for "Hello" sentiment.

A special gift for my sweet Alli

So, since I "kinda" already know how to create cards and scrapbook layouts, I tried my hand at something completely new, something I had no idea how to create but something that would involve using my own creativity, as a special gift for my daughter Allison (Alli) on her birthday.  This was a completely unassembled, unfinished writing desk from Kaisercraft.  It started out as something like this, except completely unassembled with loose pieces in a bag:

Over the course of many hours, a few days, and a couple of weeks, I ended up creating this for her:
(I wish you could see the dimension and texture on the top....but it's hard for me to capture that with my limited photography skills!)

I had fun making it, and Alli is always is one of my biggest fans when it comes to things I've created, so I thought it fitting to make something just for her, to keep, to display, to hold her cherished "things" whether they be letters, pictures, and/or other treasures that she picks up along the way in her glorious life.
